120 is double their 60 which is double their 30. But, I wish they would have went with a 120mm. Because the light’s better here, explains the drunk man.” Then why are you looking over here? the befuddled officer asks. When the officer asks if he’s sure this is where he dropped the wallet, the man replies that he thinks he more likely dropped it across the street. The drunk man tells the officer he’s looking for his wallet. Late at night, a police officer finds a drunk man crawling around on his hands and knees under a streetlight. “The fundamental error here is summed up in an old joke scientists love to tell. A single number with a specific cut-off may be more convenient but it’s arguably an instance of: Well, maybe? It seems like a more useful way to look at it. As soft lens isn't then anymore ‘macro’, where sharp lens is ‘macro’.” “But if someone thinks that sensor size defines magnification, then they need to include as well the lens sharpness as well megapixel. As mentioned elsewhere, it would be great to see more partnership lenses with Sigma get announced, I'm envisioning lenses that could have a dual housing, an OMDS one, and a DC-DN APS-C one, with Sony/Fuji being the sales drivers, especially if Sony releases an a6700/7000!!
I really would like to see a 50-200 f/4 or f/5.6 PRO IS lens in their roadmap. I'm also hopeful that OMDS will start expanding their lens offerings with a shorter cadence between announcements. I'm assuming that it will have the IP53 rating of the other pro lenses, which allows for carrying fewer filters, step-up rings in the camera bag, and uniform ergonomics & muscle memory across the M.Zuiko Pro lineup. I'm hoping that it will have a 62mm or 72mm filter thread AND retain the focus clutch, versus the 46mm (or 58mm of the 20mm f/1.4). I have since upgraded to an OM-1 with M.Zuiko Pro Glass. I bought an EM1 MkII on a vacation as my first ILC & Mirrorless. I'm interested to see the execution and timeline of this. OM Digital Solutions will continue to make the most of the Micro Four Thirds System, expanding the lens lineup for greater possibilities of expression, helping every photographer on their adventures. This lens lineup is part of the appeal of the OM SYSTEM, bringing greater joy to users through macro shooting. By adding one to the lineup, there are now three lenses with close-up shooting capabilities boasting a maximum image magnification of 2x 1 or more at focal lengths of 60mm 2, 120mm 3, and 180mm 4, for a macro lens lineup that covers everything from standard to telephoto range.
